Here are some photos of the latest Alcove cupboard we have designed and fitted.
The brief was that our customer just couldn't find a suitable piece of furniture to fit her living room alcove in her 19th Century Cottage. She had a clear idea of the colours, tones and materials that she required and she is really happy with the finished product! We utilised late Victorian Cupboard doors to give a period finish so this alcove cupboard doesn't look out of place in her period cottage. These doors were originally lifeless, we sanded and multiple waxed them and this is their natural restored colour. We love to use authentic doors as their look just can't be copied, but of course this is also eco - friendly, which we love! We used new pine for the shelves and painted the cornicing and architrave in Farrow & Ball Eggshell 'Pitch Black' to the customer's specification. She also chose the wood colour too. We look forward to getting a final photo of the alcove cupboard dressed with the customer's interior features when we return to remove, strip and replace her interior doors and add a new brick hearth to her fireplace.
